The UBF-2 was among many options for customers looking for an open-cockpit airplane for a pilot and two passengers. Only eleven are known to have been made. At one time, this WACO was fitted with floats and used for spotting swordfish off Martha’s Vineyard.
While popular before World War II, WACO was one of many aircraft companies that went out of business in the late 1940s and early 1950s when an expected postwar boom in private aviation failed to materialize.
